mjunction organises Special International Tea Day Auction for third year in a row

June 19: mjunction services limited, India’s largest B2B e-commerce company, today
organised the Special International Tea Day auction for the third year in a row, to
celebrate the International Tea Day that falls on May 21. A Tea Board of India initiative,
this occasion was celebrated by all its stakeholders across India. On International Tea
Day, producers pluck the best quality green leaf, process it, and put them up for sale
during this Special Auction every year.

Today’s mjunction catalogue had display of premium Assam CTC marks like Bahani,
Narayanpur Panbarry, Tirual, Rungliting, Joya, Nagabari from Nagaland, and premium
handcrafted teas from Diroibam, Pabhojan. Pu’er Tea from Gauripur was also on offer.
A total of 580 kgs of premium teas was sold at an average of Rs 324/kg.

Gauripur PU’ER tea fetched Rs 9000 per kg, which is a record price in its category.
PU’ER tea is a special type of tea, where green leaf is compressed and cured for a few
years.

Today’s event organised by mjunction elicited positive response from buyers and sellers
alike.

Mr Nilesh Divekar of Shangrila Enterprise who purchased the PU’ER tea, thanked
mjunction for the support provided to them. He assured continued support to quality
teas, especially artisan teas created with innovative ideas.

Mr Jayant Jalan of Absolute Tea said, “Since its inception Absolute Tea has been
procuring quality tea from Assam, Darjeeling and Arunachal. The Assam CTC produced
by Bahani and offered at Jorhat was of high quality. We have continued our legacy of
paying a deserving price for the tea, which we intend to sell via our website
absolutetea.in.”

Director, Bahani Tea, expressed happiness on the prices being fetched in its CTC teas.
He looked forward to more support from buyers in coming days.

mjunction launched its e-marketplace for tea in 2020 in Jorhat of Assam. Its seller base
is spread across the entire North East and buyers are spread all over India.
