Fight against COVID-19
mjunction plays key role in procurement of essentials
As India fights the COVID-19, India’s largest B2B e-commerce company, mjunction services limited, is standing silently and firmly beside the nation as a procurement domain expert, aiding procurement of essential goods and services.
According to mjunction MD Vinaya Varma, “It is our privilege to be able to contribute in this time of national crisis. Our team of sourcing and procurement specialists are rising to the occasion, often braving multiple odds to ensure that essential activities do not take a hit during lockdown.”
While the entire nation practises social distancing and staying at home to prevent community spread, there are some professionals who keep the essential services running.
mjunction’s procurement team has been working behind the scenes to ensure that purchases and procurement for Bokaro General Hospital, IISCO Burnpur Hospital and JLN Hospital & Research Centre of Bhilai of SAIL happen without a glitch. These include masks, medicines, sanitizers, ventilators and other essential items. Whereas this has been done for hospitals, the mjunction team working under the aegis of the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS), the nodal agency for e-governance in the state, processed a tender in record time to help procure 5 lakh masks, PPE kits and examination gloves for the Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation Ltd. Meanwhile, the helpdesk at Raipur continues to work round the clock to provide any important help that may be required regarding the procurement of these medical essentials.
In the current scenario, where food comes centrestage in all efforts being undertaken by the government, mjunction continues to provide behind-the-scenes support in facilitating procurement of foodgrains from Food Corporation of India. Since 2017, mjunction conducts weekly e-auctions for FCI to provide wheat and rice to domestic bulk consumers and traders. Ever since the nationwide lockdown began, mjunction has e-auctioned 5.5 lakh tonnes of foodgrain for FCI, thus playing its role in this crucial service to the nation.
Food raw material
mjunction has been playing a key role in procuring food raw material for TajSATS, in association with Tata Trusts, which is serving about 40,000 meals daily among government hospital doctors and police force in Mumbai and Delhi. It stepped in when regular vendors failed to comply.
Despite lockdown, the sourcing team of mjunction is on the job of sourcing and procurement of raw materials; ensuring on time delivery of food raw materials and packaging so that the food packets delivery can be done on time.
Bulk Salt Bags
Salt forms an essential part of food and consequently manufacture and transportation of bulk salt bags become part of essential services too. The mjunction procurement team, which is a key supplier of bulk salt bags to Tata Chemicals, has been steadfastly playing its role during this crisis too. As the pandemic crisis deepened throughout the month of March, the supply lines kept getting affected. The need peaked as the lockdown was announced and Tata Chemicals wanted a consignment of at least 1 lakh bulk salt bags in the last week of March. The mjunction team walked the extra mile to provide support, ensuring manufacture and finally delivery of these bulk salt bags to the Mithapur unit in Gujarat. Ever since the lockdown began, mjunction has facilitated supply of 2 lakh such bags to Tata Chemicals.
With the nation fighting a grim battle against the disease, mjunction is doing its bit to keep the essential services going, as a responsible corporate citizen of the country.
