School Integration Program

admin4mj   December 12, 2018

ejunction launched its flagship School Integration Program (SIP) in 2015. It makes sense to assume that an early exposure to digital education will foster a stronger sense of digital citizenship amongst the youth and make them more employable in times to come. The program has been specifically designed for implementation at the grass roots level, targeting those areas where resource and infrastructure are scarce. ejunction chose Kakdwip – A subdivisional Headquarter in the coastal district of West Bengal – South 24 Parganas for implementing the programme. The activities under the framework for education are mainly done via :

  • SIP (School Integration Program)
Training of basic computer as per West Bengal Board of Secondary Education
  • English Lab
Learning English by through digital means using a patented software

Highlights

  • A total number of 5000 students have been trained in computer science since inception of school integration program (SIP).
  • Computer education is now very much a part of their curriculum. Computer science syllabus of WBBSE for class V –X is being followed in the project.
  • Assessments are done through regular class tests, half yearly and annual exams.
  • Student retention has increased by 16% from 2014 – 2016 in class VIII and IX.
  • Students of class IX and X use internet facility for additional information in their other subjects
  • Students of classes V, VI and VII attend the English lab classes 3 times a week along with their assigned subject teacher. An eJunction trainer helps the teacher to conduct the class through the digital medium. More than 1800 students are getting benefited from this.
